Why Do I Need LS7 Lifters?
Firstly, your factory lifters are spring loaded. The issue starts with the spring-loaded lifters being notoriously famous for failing & essentially eat away at your camshaft. This can evolve into a very costly list of problems that can easily be prevented by upgrading to our LS7 lifters.

What Is Required To Change Your Lifters?
When changing your lifters you will need to remove the cylinder heads. Although straight forward you need to ensure you have not only your new lifters, but also it is strongly recommended to replace the lifter guides at the same time.
Why replace lifter guides when changing lifters? The OEM Lifter guide is a hardened plastic design which is used to ensure the lifters run straight with the roller inline with the cam lobe. Over time the lifter guide tends to wear, deteriorate & expand allowing excessive play in the lifter which can result in the lifter turning in the bore resulting in catastrophic failure. It is always strongly recommended to replace these as a cheap form of insurance.
Head Gaskets. When removing the cylinder heads the gaskets need to be replaced. Once removed these will no longer seal causing coolant and combustion leaks. Further to this it is important to use a quality head gasket. Cheap gaskets can be just as bad as not changing them at all!
Head Bolts. The OEM factory style head bolts are TTY (Torque TO Yield) this means when torqued down the bolts stretch into place. These are a one-time use bolt. Unless you are already using an ARP head bolt you will need to replace the bolts. Genuine replacement head bolts suit not only standard applications but also performance applications in most cases. (NOTE: If running a boosted combo ARP Fasteners are recommended)
